The World Bank's mission for the Regional Economic Development Projects ended
From May 22 to June 4, the World Bank had a mission for the Regional Economic Development Projects in the Osh and Batken regions (RED1 and RED2) implemented by the Community Development and Investment Agency (ARIS) with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the implementation support mission, the representatives of the World Bank reviewed the progress of construction works in the social infrastructures of the Osh region. They also met with the contracting organizations and consultants hired to secure high-quality construction work.
To review the progress of the Small Grants Program, the representatives of the WB met with grant receivers and were informed about the activities carried out as part of the program.
The mission of the bank ended with the participation of the ARIS management, project specialists, and the bank team. The bank team highly appreciated the progress of the project and set further activities for efficient and successful implementation of the project.
Tengiz Gogotishvili, Senior Urban Development Specialist / Co-Task Team Leader noted that the regional economic development project is crucial for sustainable regional development and economic progress. He marked that the project is aimed at the creation of favorable conditions for social development and the improvement of the quality of life of people, therefore it is important to understand the degree of responsibility and commitment.
Tolkun Djukusheva, Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist / Task Team Leader expressed that the bank is always supportive and noted the significance and capacity of the project in achieving overall tasks and aims in the regional wellbeing.
