The World Bank mission on RED1 and RED2 projects starts

On July 17, 2024 the World Bank mission started on the Regional Economic Development Projects in the Osh and Batken regions (RED-1 and RED-2). The mission which will be held on July 17-23, 2024 will focus on the support of sustainable economic development in the region through comprehensive interventions aimed at the support of infrastructure projects and social initiatives. 

The mission is led by Tolkun Jukusheva Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist/ Task Team Leader, with the support of Tengiz Gogotishvili (Senior Urban Specialist/Co-Task Team Leader and Zviad Churchelauri Consultant, and other specialists.

The mission met with the management of ARIS, Mars Naspekov Executive Director, Project Coordinator Aibek Kadyrov, and Deputy Coordinator Gulmira Djumabekova.

In the coming days, the mission is planning to meet with the project teams and discuss the implementation of the project components. The projects are aimed at supporting sustainable social and economic development of the regions and continuous engagement with the local state authorities to achieve the overall objectives of the projects.

Regional Economic Development Project in the Osh region and Osh city (RED1) and Second Regional Economic Development Project in the Batken region are implemented by the Community Development and Investment Agency with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic with financial support from the World Bank.
