Community Development and Investment Agency (ARIS) informs that Agroway consulting company completed agro-marketing studies in the Batken region.

Agro-marketing studies were held under the WB-funded Second Regional Economic Development Project in the Batken region implemented by ARIS.

To discuss the results of the study of the resource base of the region, the project organized a round table which was attended by:

- Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Batken region – A. Alimbaev

- Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the KR – Ch. Seitov

- Head of the Financial and Credit Fund under MF KR – A. Ozonov

- Representatives of the state district administration and local self-governments

- Representatives of business from Chui region

- Members of cluster associations: meat - “Toro” company, vegetables - “Nuristan”, “Bai Elim”, honey - “Aman Green Food”

- Suppliers of production materials "Bai Dyikan", and representatives of local businesses from the agricultural sector.

As part of the analysis, 13 value chains (VC) were identified for development, and seven of them have priority.

It is worth noting that the participants were highly interested in the access to commodity credit:

- 1% per annum and depending on the direction of crop production, the repayment period is up to 5 years

- for animal husbandry, horticulture, and processing enterprises up to 7 years.

It should be noted that the size of commodity credit varies up to 2 million soms for farmers, up to 20 million soms for large farmers, seed and breeding farms and cooperatives, and up to 35 million soms for processing enterprises. This means up to 100 million soms are planned to be allocated to support one VC.

Also, currently, ARIS started the implementation of the 2nd stage of the project - the definition of a consulting company to conduct information campaigns and social mobilization within the priority value chains on a cluster basis.
