The training was on topic: "The basics of cooperation and the development of the concept of cooperatives.

From December 15 to 17, 2022 within the framework of the Access To Markets Project, members of agricultural cooperatives (ACC) of Chui oblast – ACC "Belen Soyuz", "Jaiylma Agro", "Shirin Bal", "Aksai Syut", "Alexeyevka Syut", "Bereke Yntymak", "Jaiyl Bal", "Jetigen Syut", "Kanat Agro", "Kelechek Jerden", "Kut Kelechek", "Rovnoye Syut", "Issyk-Ata Organics", "Ala Too Agro", "Kenesh KG", "Otogon Agro", "Chui Taza Bal", "Birikken Syut", "Krasnaya Rechka", "Chui Paseka" have participated in the training on the basics of cooperation and developing the concept of cooperative development.

During the training, participants have learned about the tasks and objectives of cooperatives, development and capacity building of cooperative members. Discussed issues such as:

- Types of cooperatives. What functions/activities agricultural cooperatives perform;

- Role of management in cooperatives - what are the duties and rights of cooperative members;

- Membership fees (equity participation), expenses and incomes of cooperatives;

Bolot Dyikanov, trainer of the training workshop, noted that a person who would like to become a member of any cooperative, first of all, shall make sure that he or she can fulfill all rights and obligations specified in the statute of the cooperative.

In order to provide institutional strengthening services and technical support for the sustainability of cooperatives and commercial organizations, related with ATMP, and to carry out the training, the Agricultural Projects Implementation Unit hired the Development Center of Local Municipalities (DCLM) Public Fund.

Note that the Access To Markets Project (ATMP) is financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). It aims to create and develop a value chain of livestock products in the following areas: meat, milk, honey and wool.

At the national level, the Access To Markets Project is implemented by the Agricultural Projects Implementation Unit (APIU) of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.

At the community level, the Project is implemented by the Community Development and Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic.
