Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobayev familiarized himself with ARIS activities in the water supply sector
Today, June 3, 2024, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Torobayev Bakyt Ergeshevich and Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry - Director of the Water Resources Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Sokeyev Almazbek Temurbekovich held an introductory working meeting with the management and staff of the Community Development and Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic in the water supply sector.
ARIS Executive Director Mars Damirovich Naspekov opened the meeting and introduced the structure of the Agency's work in the water supply sector, spoke about the application of unique innovative technologies in the implemented Projects in all regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the main tasks set by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic to ARIS to ensure the quality of drinking water and improve sanitary conditions in households.
ARIS Executive Director M.D. Naspekov also noted that during the Projects implementation, among the priority areas is the institutional development of municipal water supply enterprises. In order to ensure uninterrupted operation and improve the quality of services provided to the population, the municipal enterprises are provided with appropriate technical support, in particular, MWEs are provided with computer, technical and construction equipment.
Coordinator of the Naryn Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Development Program, Ulanbek Konushbekovich Baigonchokov, spoke about technical solutions for piloting local waste treatment plants (LWTP) in the villages of Naryn oblast, as well as the main tasks to be performed to ensure effective functioning and adaptation of LWTP to local conditions.
Coordinator of the Sustainable Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Development Project Korchubay uulu Erlan presented the roadmap for transferring the provision of services of municipal enterprises for drinking water supply to the rayon level, and also spoke about the structure of the rayon enterprise, the activity of which will be based on an innovative billing system, providing for an automated system of servicing the population and the service provider.
Following the results of the introductory working meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Torobayev Bakyt Ergeshevich identified the main objectives and tasks required for effective Projects implementation. The necessity of implementation of works on construction of utilities system designed for collection, transportation and treatment of wastewater was noted. Strengthening the process at the operation phase: unification of enterprises at the rayon level, strengthening of technical-operational capacity.
Director of the Water Resources Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Almazbek Temurbekovich Sokeyev also noted the need for quality assurance at the design level, as well as strengthening of laboratory tests of pipes and joint work with sanitary-epidemiological station on water disinfection.
