HSIP: The World Bank Mission has started
Today, April 15, 2024, the World Bank Mission to support the implementation of the Heat Supply Improvement Project and its Additional Financing started.
The main objectives of the Mission are:
- review of the implementation progress of Component 1, including rehabilitation works of the Vostok heat supply network,
- review progress and completed retrofitting works under Component 2,
- provide support to the project implementation for the remaining implementation period, etc.
The Mission will be led by Mr. Yae Jun Kim - Energy Specialist. The Mission also includes: Ms. Lulwa Ali - Senior Environmental Specialist, Mr. Almaz Asipjanov - Environmental Specialist, Ms. Syrga Asanalieva - Social Development Specialist, Ms. Irina Goncharova - Senior Procurement Specialist, Ms. Aliya Kim - Senior Financial Management Specialist, Mr. Pekka Salminen - District Heating Expert, Mr. Bekten Doolotov - Energy Specialist, etc.
The World Bank representatives also visited the completed facilities in Chui oblast to monitor the Project implementation:
- Sretenka Comprehensive School located in Sretenka village, Moskva rayon;
- Altyn Balalyk kindergarten located in Novopokrovka village, Issyk-Ata rayon.
During the Mission, information on the Project implementation was provided in detail by the Project Coordinator U.A. Bidinov. He also informed the Bank's specialists about the works and activities carried out for the successful Project completion.
We would like to add that within the framework of the Mission a working visit to Osh oblast is also planned for monitoring of completed facilities under the HSIP. The World Bank Mission under the Project will continue until April 19, 2024.

The Heat Supply Improvement Project is implemented by the Community Development and Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and financed by the International Development Association and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of the Government of Switzerland (SECO) and is aimed at improving access to reliable and efficient heating services and introducing energy efficient technologies to reduce energy consumption by state and municipal institutions, public educational and health buildings.
