ARIS: Training activities for specialists have started under the CS-FOR Project

The Community Development and Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic informs about launching the training designed to provide participants with necessary knowledge and skills for successful implementation of activities of the FAO GCF Project “Carbon Sequestration through Climate Investments in Forests and Rangelands in the Kyrgyz Republic” (hereinafter referred to as CS-FOR).

For the purpose of increasing  the effectiveness of ongoing training events, key specialists were invited to the training, in particular, consulting company’s representatives, ARIS and FAO employees, representatives of the Department of Pastures and Livestock Breeding under the Ministry of Water resources, Agriculture  and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of the RKDF and representatives of the Forest Service under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic.

“During two days, training participants will learn mechanisms to implement social mobilization steps and establish public groups for landscape management. Also, we are planning to share with them methods for jointly identifying the community needs, a structure of the plan for integrated management of natural resources and climate change resilience (IRMIC),” said Mr. Tyupeev Ruslan Sagynbekovich, ARIS CS-FOR Project Coordinator.

ARIS CS-FOR Project Coordinator Mr. Tyupeev R.S. also noted that timely provision of training participants with knowledge and skills is essential for successful implementation of the CS-FOR Project activities.

“The Kyrgyzstan carbon sequestration project is an important step in our commitment to sustainable development, and this training represents a unique opportunity for participants to learn the necessary skills for its successful implementation,” said Mrs. Gulmira Sovetbekovna Urmanbetova, FAO CS-FOR National Project Coordinator.

Also, it can be added that throughout the training, participants will get a deep understanding of methods and tools needed to assess carbon stocks, develop sustainable forest management practices and attract financing for climate investments.  Experts on climate and sustainability will share their experiences and best practices, and discuss key challenges and opportunities facing the Project.
