ARIS took part in the work of the Second Plenary Meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Emirati Commission on Economic Cooperation

2-day working trip of Mr. Akylbek Zhaparov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic - Head of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, to the United Arab Emirates took place.

An extended Government delegation, consisting of management of the Community Development and Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic represented by an Executive Director – Mr. Mars Naspekov, took part in the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Emirati Commission on Economic Cooperation in the Abu Dhabi City (United Arab Emirates, UAE).

The Prime Minister paid special attention to energy sector development and expressed interest in further enhancing cooperation in the field of direct investment in the energy sector, construction of hydroelectric power plants and development of renewable energy sources.

During the meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Emirates Commission, various heads of state bodies from the Kyrgyz Republic and the United Arab Emirates presented extended information on priority areas of cooperation in the format of presentations.

Based on the results of the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Emirati Commission on economic cooperation, a Final Minutes had been signed.

In addition, a number of bilateral meetings took place during this working trip.

Mr. Akylbek Japarov, Head of the Cabinet of Ministers, conducted negotiations with Suheil Mohammed Al-Mazrui, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Mr. Mohammed Saif Al-Suwaydi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund.

During the negotiations, the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers, paid special attention to the problem of providing the rural areas with clen drinking water, constructing affordable housing in the Kyrgyz Republic, and developing renewable energy projects. During the meeting, issues of cooperation in the field of agriculture, communications and mass media, processing industry and introduction of advanced technologies had been discussed.

In its turn, the United Arab Emirates side expressed its readiness to become a partner in financing strategic projects and provide support for implementation of projects focused on economy vital sectors.

Also, Mr. Akylbek Japarov, the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers, as part of a working trip to the United Arab Emirates, met with Mr. Homad Al Shimmari, the Deputy General Director and Mubadala Investment Company Managing Director.

The prospects for large-scale investments in development of alternative energy, tourism, construction, logistics, telecommunications and high technologies in the Kyrgyz Republic had been discussed at the meeting.

As part of the working trip, a bilateral meeting was held with Mr. Mohammed Hassan Al-Suwaidi, the General Director and Managing Director of "Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company" ("ADQ").

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues covering key sectors of economy in both countries, including food and agriculture, aviation, financial services, healthcare, industry, logistics, real estate, tourism and hospitality, transport and energy.
