ARIS: Implementation of the Small Grants Program in Osh city and the Osh region
The Community Development and Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic informs about a meeting with grant recipients of the clothing industry in the Osh region to stimulate the development of their business through the Small Grants Program of the Regional Economic Development Project in the Osh region and Osh city.
The meeting took place to discuss business development options for participants in the Small Grants Program and methods for selling products through international platforms such as Wildberries.
The special guest at the meeting was Almaz Malikov, who has been working in the clothing industry for many years. He supports entrepreneurs in expanding exports to the Russian market through the Wildberries platform. A distinctive feature of his brand “Censura” is that Kyrgyz seamstresses manufacture the goods. He conducted a master class for small grant program participants on starting and running their businesses on the Wildberries platform. According to the beneficiaries, the information received was very useful for their business.
The meeting was also attended by grant receivers. Among them is Chyngyzbek Aitiev, who produces handmade leather shoes. He demonstrated samples of his products and spoke about the benefits of orthopedic shoes. He participates in the small grants program to receive a grant to expand his business and increase production and staff.
The final stage was to show the beneficiaries their finished products. The meeting was very productive for the participants themselves because there were already groups that were interested in joint implementing projects.
It should be noted that the RED Small Grants Program is planned to create over 100 new jobs among grant recipients from the textile industry, which will increase tax and social contributions to the budget, as well as increase exports, with the expected sale of up to 80% of production in foreign markets;
Active engagement with grant receivers, conducting marketing events, introducing new concepts, and providing sewing services for the tourism industry, including sewing bed linens, quilts, and shoppers for stores and other businesses.
