Nookat Almasy (Apples of Nookat) is significant step to the development of logistics and agriculture in the Osh region

On July 6, 2024, the Community Development and Investment Agency (ARIS) opened a Trade and Logistics Center (TLC) to store apples built by the agricultural and horticultural cooperative Nookat Almasy with the support of the Regional Economic Development Project (RED) in Bayish village of Nookat district.

The deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev, head of the country office of the WB in the Kyrgyz Republic Hugh Riddle, ARIS Executive Director M. Naspekov and other employees of the Ministry, WB and ARIS attended the opening ceremony. 

The TLC was built through the PPC Program (Private and Public Cooperation) of the RED project and the contribution of the private entrepreneur.

The area of the TLC is 1140 sq.m. and the capacity is 1200 tons. The agricultural cooperative has a 350-ton refrigerator for storing fruit, a packaging line, and a sorting and washing shop.

The opening of the Nookat Almasy logistics center is a significant step in the development of logistics and agriculture in the southern region of Kyrgyzstan, designed to optimize the value chain and improve the access of local producers to the market. The opening of the center is an important event for the country and is expected to contribute to sustainable economic development and improve the living standard of the population.

Regional Economic Development Project in the Osh region and Osh city (RED1) is implemented by the Community Development and Investment Agency with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic with financial support from the World Bank.
