A green future starts today: Adaptation to climate change - from a child's perspective
In the kindergarten named after A. Kurmanaliyev located in At-Bashy village of At-Bashy rayon, Naryn oblast, an open lesson on climate conservation and nature protection was held. This event marks the beginning of an important initiative to engage children in a conversation about adaptation to climate change and their role in preserving the environment.
The main objective of the above event is to educate and raise the interest of children and adolescents in responsible attitude towards the environment and climate change.
As part of the open lesson, young Kyrgyz citizens became familiar with the concept of sustainable development, realized the importance of environmental habits and discussed practical steps to reduce environmental impact.
The initiative to hold an open lesson in kindergarten on climate and nature underlines the importance of starting educational programs aimed at shaping environmental thinking of children from a very young age. Surveys show that knowledge acquired in early childhood lays the foundation for a long-term attitude to nature and instils responsibility for the environment.
We would like to add that information and educational activities on climate are carried out within the framework of the Additional Financing of the Third Village Investment Project (AF VIP-3) implemented by the Community Development and Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic.
