A garbage truck was handed over to Ak-Terek AA under the VIP-3 AF

On August 14, 2024, in the village of Kara-Koo in Issyk-Kul oblast, a solemn ceremony of handing over the special machinery for solid waste collection was held with the participation of the coordinator of the VIP-3 AF project M.D. Dosuev, head of the state administration - akim of Ton rayon B.K. Astanakulov, head of Ak-Terek AA - J.J. Zarnaev, chairman of the council of aqsaqals -  E.S. Isayev and representatives of the community.

It should be noted that the Third Village Investment Project (COVID-19 Response) Additional Financing (VIP-3 AF) is a project of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, financed by the World Bank and implemented by ARIS in Issyk-Kul, Naryn, Chuy and Talas oblasts.

During the social mobilization, local communities considered addressing environmental issues as the most important priority for this part of the southern water area of Lake Issyk-Kul. Then, during 5 months of 2024, the subproject “Acquisition of specialized machinery - garbage truck and garbage cans for Ak-Terek AA of Ton rayon of Issyk-Kul oblast” was implemented. The total cost of the subproject amounted to KGS 6,404,000. By the way, this AA includes 9 villages (after administrative and territorial reform).

Mr. Zhyrgal Zarnaev Zhakshylykovich, Head of Ak-Terek ayil aimak, speaking at the ceremony said: “We thank  the ARIS for the support. Thanks to successful social mobilization under the VIP-3 AF project, we have solved a very urgent problem of our villages.”

The subproject will benefit 8,501 direct beneficiaries and 15,000 indirect beneficiaries.

Head of the State Administration - Akim of Ton rayon, Mr. Bayyshbek Astankulov Kakhromanovich emphasized the effective activity of the VIP-3 AF in improving social infrastructure: “Today we can see how the population's access to quality medical services is improving - health centers are being built, kindergartens and schools are being renovated. All this contributes to improving the living standards of the population of Ton rayon.”
