Trainings for representatives of local communities were held in Naryn Region

The trainings were held in several directions in the villages of Zhumgal, Kochkor and Ak-Tala districts of Naryn region on February 4 - 27, 2025 under the Naryn Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Development Program financed by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Asian Development Bank.

These trainings were held in Naryn region with participation of 725 people, including employees from Ayil Okmotu, Municipal Enterprises in the field of drinking water supply, Feldsher-Midwife Stations, teachers from pilot schools, kindergarten, representatives of Rural Health Committees and Water Committees, as well as members of Initiative Groups, and covered the following areas:

- as part of the training on institutional development on the topic "Connecting private houses to water supply networks", participants received detailed information about water meters, their correct installation and placement of equipment for drinking water supply. Also, the topics related to installation of water supply and water intake systems, obtaining permits for connection to the water supply system and other areas have been discussed.

- in the field of sanitation and hygiene, participants had the opportunity to build capacity in promoting the improved hygiene practices in education and everyday life, improving access to clean drinking water and sanitation in social institutions and households, preventing parasitic diseases and other topics.

It will be recalled that the Naryn Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Development Program being implemented by the Community Development and Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic (ARIS), includes ensuring safe water supply and access to improved sanitation for 43 villages in Naryn Oblast, as well as capacity building for stakeholders in this area.
