Public Hearings were held in Naryn Region
As a part of implementation of the "Naryn Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Development Program” (the Program)", public hearings were held in a number of villages in the Naryn region, where construction of water supply systems is planned.
Public hearings were held on February 11 -15, 2025 with participation of a Head of the local state administration in At-Bashy District, Heads from the Raion departments of state bodies, Heads of Ayil Okmotu, Ayil Bashchy, deputies of local keneshes and local residents from the At-Bashy and Ak-Zhar Villages,At-Bashy Ayil Aimak in the At-Bashy district. Also, the public hearings were held in Ken-Suu, Kotur-Suu, Tabylgy, Sary-Bulung and Kyzyl-Sok Villages, Min-Kush Ayil Aimak in the Zhumgal district of the Naryn region.
During the hearings, ARIS specialists presented general information on the Program being implemented, where the participants became familiar with the Program goals and objectives. The Site-Specific Environmental Management Plan (SSEMP) was also presented that to be applied during the construction of water supply systems in the specified villages.
In addition, the participants were provided with information on the ongoing activities on institutional development, sanitation and hygiene, the Beneficiary Feedback Mechanism, and environmental and social safeguards. Also, the detailed design and cost estimation documentation (DED) was presented to the participants, the representatives from “Kyrgyzgiprostroy” OJSC and ENCON LLC Design Institutes demonstrated a general plan for future water supply system schemes, which in turn was unanimously approved by participants following the discussion.
Civil works in the specified villages will be carried out under "Naryn Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Development Program” being implemented by ARIS with the financial support of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Asian Development Bank, the purpose of which is to ensure reliable access to safe drinking water supply and improved sanitation for rural settlements in the Naryn Region.
