The conference "Role of Women in Adaptation and Prevention of Climate Change" took place in Batken
On April 8th in Batken city, key figures from target communities of CSP AF participated. These women included chairpersons of Community-Village Investment Associations, community reporters, climate change ambassadors, Heads of Aiyl Okmotu, Ayil Kenesh Deputies, leaders of public organizations, businesswomen, along with representatives from local state administrations, the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Batken oblast, project specialists, Oblast coordinators, and community technology support officers.
The conference aimed to raise awareness about and underscore the crucial role of women in adapting to climate change and mitigating the impact of sudden weather-related disasters.
Specialists from CSP AF delivered presentations on gender development within project implementation, the role of women in climate adaptation, socio-environmental management, women's empowerment, and economic opportunities.
Throughout the event, participants received detailed information on best practices from climate change ambassadors conducting educational activities in Kadamjai, Nookat, and Batken districts within the target areas of CSP AF.
Group panel discussions with representatives from the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Batken Oblast focused on enhancing practical skills for responding to natural disasters such as landslides, mudflows, and earthquakes. The conference also featured theatrical performances illustrating emergency response protocols. As part of the gender-focused conference, the results of a drawing competition on the theme of climate change were announced.
