ADB Mission on Supporting the Naryn Program has been started

On October 7th 2025, the Asian Development Bank Mission started  its work as part of the implementation of the Original and Additional Financing for the Naryn Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Development Program.  Dusing the week key implementation mechanisms will be reviewed.

Today, on October 8th 2025, ADB Mission representatives visited the Uchkun and Kulanak villages in Naryn District, where, in addition to construction and installation of the water supply system, they inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of sanitary facilities in  the Uchkun Secondary School named after Toksobaev.

In addition, the Mission representatives visited the Baetovo village in Ak-Tala District, where they inspected construction progress on water pipeline and water intake. Also, they inspected construction of a water tower in the Kaiyndy-Bulak village. Finally, they inspected rehabilitation of sanitary facilities in the Baetovo Secondary School named after Sh. Beishenaliev in.

  6. Mr. Reden John T. Barloso, Senior Safeguards Specialist (Environment), OSFG
  7. Ms. Sophio Omanadze, Safeguards Specialist (Social), OSFG;
  8. Ms. Nargiza Kudaiberdieva, Safeguards Officer (Social), OSFG; and
  9. Ms. Asel Myrzabekova, Consultant, Gender Equality Division (CCGE), Climate Change and Sustainable Development Department (CCSD).

The Naryn Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Development Program financed by the Asian Development Bank with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic covers 43 villages in Naryn Region. Following the Program implementation, over 100 000 people in the region will gain access to improved water sources, and the proportion of the population using safe water supply services will be increased. Furthermore, sanitary facilities in several preschools, schools and healthcare institutions will be rehabilitated,  including connection of pilot households to local wastewater treatment facilities.
