NRWSSDP: Institutions in the Field of Drinking Water Supply Have Been Provided with Office Equipment
Today, office equipment was handed over to several Municipal Enterprises and Inter-district State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Centers in the Naryn region.
This event was part of the Naryn Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Development Program financed by the Asian Development Bank with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Program being carried out by the Community Development and Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic (ARIS) will provide access to improved water sources for over 100 000 people in 43 villages of the Naryn region. This will increase the proportion of the population using safe water supply services, rehabilitate sanitation facilities in kindergartens, schools and healthcare facilities, and some households will be connected to the local wastewater treatment facilities as the pilot solution.
In addition to civil works, the Program also plans to improve the technical equipment of Municipal Enterprises and Inter-district State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Centers.
Following the administrative-territorial reform, 27 rural municipalities (Aiyl Aimaks) were established in Naryn Oblast, and the Program covers 18 out of that. In 2024, the heads of four rural municipalities, where water supply systems had been completed, received four sets of computer equipment, which are currently being used to manage the billing system.
To date, the computer equipment has been transferred to the remaining 14 rural municipalities.
Moreover, five sets of computer equipment were purchased and delivered to support the Inter-district State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Centers in Naryn Oblast, which monitor drinking water quality for compliance with regulatory requirements. Computers play a key role in laboratories, as they are used to automate workflows, improve research accuracy, manage laboratory equipment, and collect, analyze, and store data.
