Uzgen district is actively implementing the Livelihood Support Program as part of the CSP AF
As one of the largest districts in the Oblast, Uzgen Rayon has successfully collaborated with ARIS projects, mirroring the positive cooperation seen in other districts. A total of 316 individuals from Uzgen Rayon actively participated in business skills and knowledge development activities within the Livelihoods Support Program (LSP), which were conducted in two stages.
Before delving into the creation of business plans, participants showcased their handmade products, learned effective selling techniques, and exchanged experiences with one another. Additionally, during the training sessions on Module B, titled "Livelihood Support Programs," participants initiated "small fairs" to exhibit and trade their own products. Community representatives highlighted that such events provided valuable support and encouragement for villagers embarking on new business ventures.
Gulgaaky Karaeva, a resident of Changet village and one of the training participants, shared her experience: "I gained a wealth of information during the training. I invested 1000 soms in products, crafted eco-bags, brought them to the training, and successfully sold them. The training revealed to me that sales and production could be turned into a business. Currently, I am drafting a business plan aligned with my hobby and skills."
Meanwhile, another participant, Samieva Moorkan, recounted her post-training endeavors: "As an unemployed woman, my brother, Samiev Kanatbek, introduced me to the ARIS entrepreneurship trainings conducted by Asanbek Turduyev. Attending the trainings inspired me to initiate a small business. After the training, I promptly ventured to the city to sell bakery products. I gained more customers and started receiving orders from cafes. This business allows me to care for my grandchildren during the day if orders come in late. I am delighted to have started my own business, even if it is small."
