АRIS: Supporting private entrepreneurship is the key to economic growth

The Community Development and Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic informs the public that it provides comprehensive support for the development of the entrepreneurial sector in the regions of the country as part of its ongoing projects.   

Within the framework of the Additional Financing of the Third Village Investment Project (AF VIP-3) a "Livelihoods Support Program" is being implemented with the main objective of building and enhancing the capacity of selected participants from vulnerable groups of population in developing their skills related with livelihoods. 

️One of the program's activities is to enable vulnerable community members to develop and implement their business plans taking into account the consequences of COVID-19. The Program also provides selected participants with training sessions to support them develop entrepreneurial skills and learn about new opportunities in entrepreneurial employment sectors.  

One such participant is Jumamambetov Bakyt, a resident of Jany-Talap village, Ak-Talaa rayon, Naryn oblast. He is engaged in the production of leather goods. In order to support the entrepreneur's private business development, he was provided with the required equipment to organize a shoe production workshop under the VIP-3 AF.   

"I am immensely grateful for the support provided. I have received a hose-pipe machine, a shoe repair grinder, a beading machine, an electromechanical machine, a pneumatic gluing press, a boring machine and much more. Thanks to the new equipment, I will be able to increase the speed of my work, which will bring an increase in sales, and therefore profit. Most importantly, I will be able to create new jobs and contribute to the development of my village," said Bakyt Jumamambetov.   

Note that the "Livelihoods Support Program" is designed to promote the development of local communities, creating opportunities for economic independence, with the aim of sustainable development of the region and improving the quality of life of its residents.
