A Steering Committee Meeting on the NRWSSDP Implementation held on January 31, 2024

Today, a meeting of the Steering Committee was held in the Department of Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Development (DDWSSD) under the State Agency for Architecture, Construction and Housing and Communal Utilities (hereinafter Gosstroy) under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The purpose of the Steering Committee meeting is the overall coordination of work under the Naryn Rural water Supply and Sanitation Development Program implementation (hereinafter referred to as NRWSSDP), financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

During the Steering Committee meeting a NRWSSDP report on the results of 2023 was reviewed and heard; including discussions on activities carried out on sanitation and hygiene, institutional development and Beneficiary Feedback Mechanism. In addition, a presentation was made on the works done, in particular, on achieving the main DLIs in terms of completion of construction and installation works for water supply systems in villages, as well as for rehabilitation of sanitary facilities (in schools, kindergartens and medical institutions).

At the end of the meeting, the Steering Committee members approved a report on the works done by the NRWSSDP for 2023 and prepared a Minutes of the meeting, which will be submitted to ADB.

The Steering Committee includes the DDWSSD Deputy Director, the First Deputy of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Naryn Oblast, representatives of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic and the ARIS NRWSSDP Coordinator.
