A Number of Social Infrastructure Facilities Inaugurated in Osh Oblast

On August 8, ARIS Executive Director M. D. Naspekov began his working trip to Osh oblast, focusing on subprojects implemented under the Community Support Project Additional Financing (CSP AF).

In Konurat village, Kara-Suu city, Kara-Suu district, the subproject "Asphalting of Kyrbashev Street" was inaugurated, with a total cost of 10,316,705 KGS. This event is significant for more than 2,000 residents, as the rural street and road network have been greatly improved, making movement more convenient and safer. Notably, Kyrbashev Street is home to the N. Kalmurzaev School, the "Bal-Bereke" Kindergarten, a first-aid-point, and a mosque. Modern roads are a key factor in improving the quality of life for villagers.

Additionally, ARIS Executive Director M. D. Naspekov, along with CSP AF Coordinator M. E. Bayaliev and Regional Coordinator of the ARIS Representative Office in Osh oblast M. A. Sagynbaev, participated in the opening of the subproject "Installation of Irrigation Pump" in Erkin village, Kara-Suu town, Kara-Suu district. The total cost of the subproject is 5,919,700 soms (grant - 1,902,580 soms, Aiyl Okmotu contribution - 4,017,120 soms). This subproject is crucial for 1,441 people, as irrigation water greatly aids in crop cultivation. By providing irrigation water to 98 hectares of land in Erkin village, it will also help resolve water disputes among farmers and improve the welfare of 130 households.

On August 8, ARIS Executive Director also visited the subproject "Construction of Youth Development Center" in Kungoi village, Alai district. The neighboring villages of Kurulush, Kabylan Kol, Kungoi, and Kara-Jygach have a combined population of 3,444 people (1,752 men, 1,692 women, including 966 youth). Unfortunately, these four villages previously lacked a club, gym, or sports ground for young people. Cultural and mass events, as well as village meetings, were held outdoors, with no facilities for clubs or activity groups. Upon completion of the Youth Development Center, it will offer:

  • Educational centers for youth aged 18-34, including lessons in English and Russian languages, computer courses, special training for drafting, fitness club, sports, etc.)
  • Chess clubs, mental arithmetic courses, dance, and musical instrument training for schoolchildren
  • Puppet theater and other festive events for pre-school children

Finally, the Executive Director of ARIS reviewed the implementation of the subproject "Major Renovation of the Secondary School named After M. Tashiev" in Kara-Shoro village, Alai district, with a total cost of 6,399,906.10 KGS.
